Visit to Kathmandu University
On Tuesday, at the invitation of the Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Prof Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche addressed over 300 senior faculty members, staff and students at the University’s teaching hospital in Dhulikhel.
Initially planning to speak for 45 minutes, Rinpoche give a lively, informative and characteristically humorous teaching to an enthralled audience for over two hours. His key themes included Buddhism as science of mind, questioning the nature of things as they appear and the importance of remaining calm, clear and helpful at all times. Rinpoche further highlighted the role being played by Rangjung Yeshe Institute in influencing Buddhist Studies programs at Universities around the world.
Following some lively questions from the audience, Acting Dean of Arts, Prof. Dr Sagar Raj Sharma, offered a vote of thanks and requested Rinpoche to return frequently in the future to offer his wisdom and guidance.
