We are delighted to share with you this additional New Year’s address that Rinpoche delivered spontaneously in English to the sangha gathered at Gomde Austria after the sang puja on New Year’s Day.

In this talk, Rinpoche encourages us to reflect on our progress in our dharma practice over the past year and to resolve to take our practice more seriously in the year ahead.

Rinpoche elaborates on several points he made more concisely in his earlier New Year’s message. Specifically, Rinpoche advises us all to keep a Dharma journal about our practice, both in and outside of formal sessions. Rinpoche also encourages us to participate in a one-month ngöndro retreat — perhaps the annual retreat at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling every winter or a similar retreat at Gomde Austria planned for next year. Rinpoche also invites all of us to attend the inauguration of the Thousand Buddha Temple in Lumbini—the opening date and plans will soon be announced!
