The Buddha’s Teaching in India and Tibet
The Buddha’s Teaching in India and Tibet: Oral transmission, Treasures and Pure Vision
A weekly course happening every Saturday, beginning on May 29, 3 – 4:30 pm CEST (check your time zone)
You may have watched Rinpoche’s recent video in which Rinpoche explained that studying Madhyamaka had changed his life and for that reason he had encouraged Thomas Doctor to teach us about Madhayamaka. Rinpoche further expressed the wish that Andreas Doctor teach about the history, transmission, and practice of Vajrayana.
We are happy to announce a new course by Andreas Doctor fulfilling Rinpoche’s wish. Andreas will teach on the history of the Buddha’s teaching as it developed in India and Tibet and will especially focus on the origin and transmission of the Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions as seen from the perspective of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism. The course will also highlight the ways in which these Vajrayana teachings have been commonly practiced in all the other Tibetan Buddhist traditions of the Kagyu, Sakya, and Geluk as well.
