Asura cave, Pharping, Nepal

In the instructions known as The Triple Excellence, Tara, the female Buddha of wisdom in action, reveals a complete path of perfect awakening. The great treasure master of Tibet, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa, received these profound and pithy instructions from Tara herself and they are transmitted in a precious lineage of accomplished gurus. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, a close descendent of the treasure revealer himself, received Tara’s Triple Excellence from his own masters.  In clear steps Tara’s instructions cover all three vehicles of Buddhism from the Vajrayana perspective.

Our 7^th annual retreat in Pharping will focus on the practices of the Third Excellence, the Vajrayana. Rinpoche and Lama Tenzin will instruct and guide us in the practice related to the Third Excellence part 2, the inner Tara sadhana. Not only does this profound Tara meditation confer unique benefits, but also does this special place, where Padmasambhava is said to have attained one of many levels of enlightenment.

Anyone interested in this practice is invited to join us, even if you have not yet completed a part of Tara’s Triple Excellence online meditation program. Due to the intense nature of this retreat, we, however, recommend to participate only if you already have some experience with sadhana practice.

DAILY PROGRAM SCHEDULE
There will be four sessions per day. Two sessions will be dedicated to the sadhana practice. During the other two we will receive teachings from Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and receive explanations about the sadhana from Lama Tenzin. Rinpoche will also offer the empowerment required for this inner Tara sadhana practice. Between sessions we will have the opportunity to visit several of the sacred and blessed places in the nearby area of Asura Cave.

The suggested minimum contribution for the whole retreat is 210 USD. Lodging, full board, practice texts, and bus transfer from and to Kathmandu are included. The buses will leave around midday from the Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery to Pharping. The estimated return to Boudhanath is late afternoon on November 16th. Due to limited place at the monastery, registration is based on the first come, first serve method, and we can only keep a place at this retreat for those who have completed at least the advance contribution. Please note that the advance contribution is not refundable.
The remaining amount of 168 USD will be paid on-site at Ka-Nying Monastery on November 9. (The exact place and time TBA; it is possible to pay also in Nepali Rupees or Euro).*
